In June 2026, Vertiv announced a new liquid management service called PurgeRite NearZero for closed-loop hydronic cooling systems used in data centers. The service has been introduced to reduce the amount of water needed during the commissioning stage of cooling systems, according to the company's claim. It also aims to lower wastewater generation and reduce the transportation required during the installation process.
Furthermore, the company explained that the new service brings together different fluid management activities into one process. These include flushing the cooling system, treating the water, reusing water whenever possible, and continuously checking the condition of the fluid. By carrying out these steps together, the service helps prepare cooling systems while using fewer water resources.
Moreover, the Vertiv shared that PurgeRite NearZero can significantly reduce water use during system commissioning. The company stated that the service is capable of cutting water consumption by up to 78%. It can also reduce the transportation of wastewater by as much as 91%, helping lower the amount of waste produced during the process.

Also, according to the company, the need for advanced cooling systems is increasing because modern data centers are handling more demanding workloads, including artificial intelligence applications and high-density computing. As cooling requirements continue to grow, the company believes that reducing water use and improving fluid management have become more important during the installation of these systems.
